How you practice matters. And it took me 10 years to figure out how to truly improve when practicing. 1) Practice golf shots, not “hitting” the golf ball. When you’re on the golf course, you are trying to execute a shot. This should be the same on the driving range. I used to hit ball after ball without any intention. Now, I pick a target, create an acceptable “miss window”, and execute the shot. 2) Less is more. Take your time on the range, chipping, and putting. Become comfortable with your routine and rhythm. It is very cliche, but practice how you play. You should try and simulate the focus and intention you have on the course into your practice routine. 3) Decide if you ACTUALLY want to get better. If you just enjoy golfing and have no inspiration to truly improve, then this isn’t for you! I am a caddie at Whistling Straits and Harbour Town, and I’m constantly around high handicappers that think they want to get better. Getting better is understanding your capabilities and playing to them, until you add new skill sets. If you put yourself in a difficult situation on the course, and you try something you’re not able to do (at least most of the time), you’re not getting better. These tips have made a MASSIVE difference in my routine. I hope they can help you as well. . . . #golftips #golfswing #drivingrange #golfishard

Follow for simple golf coaching that helps you practice better and shoot lower scores. Most golfers don’t actually have a swing problem. They have a practice problem. Standing on the range hitting ball after ball with the same club isn’t practice — it’s just repetition. And repetition without feedback rarely transfers to the golf course. Effective practice has structure and intention. Try using this simple framework: 1. Start with a purpose Pick one clear focus before you begin. A movement, a strike pattern, or a ball flight. If you’re working on five things at once, you’re improving none of them. 2. Change the task regularly Golf isn’t played from the same lie to the same target. Change clubs, targets, and trajectories every few shots to train adaptability. 3. Add consequence Give yourself small challenges. For example: land three shots inside a target zone before moving on. Pressure creates focus. 4. Finish with transfer practice End your session by imagining real holes. Pick a target, go through your routine, and hit one shot as if you’re on the course. Better golfers don’t just practice more. They practice with structure. And structure is what turns range time into lower scores. #golftips #golfinstruction #golfcoach

Practice like a pro ⛳️ Too many golfers just beat balls and hope something clicks. Real improvement comes from intentional practice. Start every session by checking your swing mechanics. Film a few swings, match them against the feels you’re working on and build one or two positive feels you can trust. This is where real change starts. Next, move into structured shot shaping. Don’t just hit stock shots instead practice hitting fades, draws, high, and low shots to specific targets. Learning to control the golf ball builds the skill you actually need on the course. Then add pressure. Create games. One-ball challenges. Visualise specific holes. Put consequences on the line so your practice feels like the first tee, not the driving range. Finally, organise your practice • Putting • Shortgame • Wedges • Irons • Woods I like to use @upgameapp which is a stats system that shows me what my strengths and weaknesses are so I know what needs to improve. Practice with purpose now so you can play with freedom later. #GolfPractice #GolfTips #PracticeLikeAPro #GolfImprovement GolfTraining

They say practice what you preach… but I preach whatever works for the player. The biggest mistake golfers make is thinking that every golf tip video applies to them. A player may see my swing or practice reps, think they should be doing that, while in reality they may already shallow beautiful by they don’t rotate enough to match it up. That said, the majority of golfers (bro, I do THOUSANDS of lessons a year, I see A LOT of swings) would benefit from some focused practice feeling the clubs COM move behind them. At the end of the day, you need to know your cause/effect. If you don’t, come see me for an online lesson.

YOU NEED TO HAVE clear intentions during every practice session. Improvement isn’t about grinding for hours. It’s about practicing with purpose. If you want your range sessions to actually transfer to the course, focus on these 5 things: 1. Practice more than you play. If you only play, you’re just repeating the same habits and at best you’re only managing your swing - not improving it. BE ON THE RANGE AND THE SHORT GAME PRACTICE FACILITY 3-5 times a week, 60-90 minutes, instead of spending seven hours on the golf course every Sunday! 2. Practice specific drills while you’re at the range. Don’t just go out and fire balls. Work on one intention at a time. Create a station with alignment sticks and helpful swing aids. 3. Spend at least 50% of your practice time on putting and chipping. That’s where scoring happens. That’s where limited-time golfers gain strokes fastest. 4. Take golf lessons from someone you enjoy working with. Clarity beats confusion. A simple plan saves months or years of guessing. 5. Make things as simple as possible. One swing feel. One focus. One clear objective. Complexity kills consistency. You don’t need more YouTube tips. You need a plan and a little discipline with your time. If you’re ready to practice smarter instead of longer, send me a message and we can get to work. Be grateful, be present, and good luck out there, y’all. Pedal down. #golf #improve #lasvegas #coach #practice

If you feel directionless in your practice… it’s not a talent issue. It’s a structure issue. Most golfers don’t need more time. They need more intention with the limited time they already have. If you want your range swing to work on the golf course you have to practice playing golf and not golf swing. You don’t get second chances when you play golf, you get 1 chance on every shot. So why wouldn’t we practice in a way that encourages the ability to perform on the course instead of only performing in practice? Every shot is different when we get on the course, we never get the same shot with the same club to the same target unless we hit it out of play. And even then it’s not the same shot, it’s a separate performance. It will be uncomfortable at first if you’re not used to practicing in this way. I suggest hitting no more than 2 shots with the same club to the same target in your practice. Change your club, change your target or change your shot. Go through your routine and practice it until it’s second nature. If you don’t have a solid pre shot routine you need to develop one. You will not see any great player without a consistent pre shot routine and there’s a reason for that. If you practice in this variable way you may not get as consistent results at first, but once you get comfortable you’ll notice better results and more importantly you’ll find more comfort and belief on the course and more consistent results when you play and need to score. Use this method for all parts of your game and you’ll see the benefit in your scores. #teamtaylormade #thehomecourse #ownyourswing #performancecenter #musthave

I don’t have a perfect swing. I want you to know that I’m a golfer… just like you. I have my own tendencies that I deal with. I have drills that I work on. And, I have a coach. I’m not a fancy PGA Teaching Professional. I’m just a golfer who is obsessed with a game where we put a little white ball into a hole in the middle of a giant field. I love trying to figure this game out. And I love helping overs achieve similar (or better) results that I’ve been able to achieve with my game. Going from struggling to breaking 80… …to breaking 80 consistently… …to breaking par… … to shooting many many scores in the 60s and carrying a better than scratch handicap at all times… I’ve learned that my swing is not ‘fixed’ because I hit a few great shots on the range with a new swing feel. I’ve learned my swing is not ‘fixed’ because I’ve played one or two rounds and hit a bunch of fairways and greens. And I’ve learned the only way to truly get 1% better each and everyday is by: 1. Having a plan to follow for all areas of your game. 2. Using feedback loops when practicing. 3. Having a coach walk beside you - especially to check your drills when your practicing ‘on your own’. If you miss ANY of those steps above, I promise you will prolong the process of improving… If you’d like to learn the exact process of how I went from a 15 to under scratch, comment ‘GUIDE’ and I’ll send you a dm.

Is your idea of “practice” the problem? Hit me up on @skillestapp and let’s find out. 99.9% of golfers don’t know how to practice. That’s why so many are never able to make a swing change stick. There’s home practice. There’s range practice. And there’s course practice. At home, slow it down and exaggerate. Break things down. Build your feels. On the range, take those feels and exaggerate them even more, but with more speed. On the course, film and still feel like you exaggerate. See what your “Real” course swing looks like. Play by yourself and hit multiple balls exaggerating. Until you hit the shot you want swinging the way you want. That builds trust. Then do it again and again. Practice… make sure you have a routine that’s best for you.

Why Can’t We Practice Like This? 🤔 Why can’t more golfers go SLOW? Why can’t we EXAGGERATE? ——— If you’re trying to make a change - try to overdo it at first. It’s way easier to from A to C to B then trying to inch your way from A to B. ——— I’ll tell you why - because it’s a SKILL! It’s hard. It’s not easy. It takes practice. It takes patience. Develop this skill and making swing changes will become DOABLE!
