Through Hirayama — a modest toilet cleaner in Tokyo — Wenders shows us something powerful: fulfillment isn’t built on status, wealth, or achievement. It’s found in the small, passing moments that most people overlook. 🌿 Key ideas in the film: 1. The discipline of simplicity. Hirayama’s routine rarely changes. He waters his plants, plays cassette tapes, reads books. His life is simple — but not empty. The film reveals that when simplicity is embraced with awareness, it becomes something almost sacred. 2.
