On the surface, 230 million views sounds like a goldmine. But Raj reveals a detail that changes everything — roughly 65% of those views came from YouTube Shorts. And that’s where the math falls apart. YouTube Shorts pay a fraction of what long-form videos earn. We’re talking pennies compared to the rupees that 10–20 minute videos generate through mid-roll ads, higher CPMs, and longer watch time. So despite massive view counts, the actual AdSense revenue stays modest. ₹2 lakh per month from 230 million views. Let that sink in. Now here’s the important part — Raj isn’t complaining. Because AdSense was never his primary revenue source. And that’s the real lesson. The smartest creators in India treat YouTube AdSense as a bonus, not a business model. The real money comes from everywhere else.
