KATwo years ago, we made it official.
In March 2024, Katha Pilipinas @kathapilipinas formally launched our Skills Development Tenet: a structured, Arts Management-informed approach to building sustainable creative livelihoods in the Philippines. A culmination of what we’d been quietly doing since 2016: mentoring, coaching, and walking alongside creatives as they built their practice.
Since then, we’ve delivered certificate programmes and free public workshops for artist-entrepreneurs navigating an emerging — and still underserved — creative economy.

At the heart of all three: 𝘽𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙏𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙠𝙞𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘾𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨— a comprehensive set of tools and strategies to empower the artist to become a full-fledged artist-entrepreneur.
We’re grateful for the support of the Department of Trade and Industry Negosyo Center @dti.philippines and the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines Bureau of Copyright and Related Rights @ipophl_official.
Here’s what we know to be true: Creatives have the innate ability to turn nothing into something. The entrepreneurial mindset? Instinctive. What’s missing is structural support, and that’s exactly the gap we’re here to bridge.
Ten years building. Two years official. With community. With institutions. With evidence.
In this season of expansion, we look forward to more informed, future-ready programmes driven by the stories of who matter most: our creatives.

ARThe Philippine Art and Culture Exchange (PACE) Creatives Consortium presents Filipino artists and cultural workers in Europe.
Introducing... Nats Sisma Villaluna, based in Barcelona for over 17 years, who has cultivated a career defined by creative cultural narrative, community empowerment, and a profound commitment to the "Global Filipino" identity.
As the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of The Filipino Expat Magazine, Nats curates stories that chronicle the triumphs and complexities of Pinoy life abroad. Through the Filipino Expats, Nats has been actively supporting Filipino authors and artists by organizing book launches and art exhibits.
His creative leadership extends to the stage as the Artistic Director & General Manager of Coro Kudyapi, where he has spent 12 years shaping the visual and performative identity of the Filipino youth and children choir in Spain. Nats has also been deeply involved in cultural volunteerism through Centro Filipino including teaching Spanish to newly arrived kababayans in Barcelona.
Nats was honored as one of the Host Ambassadors for Barcelona International Community Day 2024. His dedication to his heritage is further reflected in his role as Vice-President of Samahang Kayumanggi and his long-standing tenure as the Program Director for the Philippine Independence Day celebrations in Barcelona.
In 2025, Nats expanded his repertoire into independent cinema with two short films: "Palindrome": An exploration of memory and the human spirit through the lens of dementia. "Aporte" (Contribution): A philosophical reflection on the social contract and human value within the public sphere, created for the Barcelona Metro Transport short film competition.
Through his work with organizations like Centro Filipino, Kalipi, and Kalayaan Barcelona, Nats continues to empower fellow migrants, transforming the immigrant experience into a celebrated art form.
The PACE Creatives Consortium is a network of Filipino cultural talents and workers across Europe.

_KMaaaan it still feels a surreal being invited to Graphika Manila 🥹
Even though i love art and design, when i was younger i was scared to even touch Photoshop because i was afraid to fail (imagine the fear of failure meant never trying it at all) But so many times God gave me opportunities to trust Him and choose the creative path, and step by step it has lead me to where i am today. Graphika Manila isn’t the culmination of God’s favor, i believe it just one of the many opportunities he’s given me to speak about his goodness.
Thank you to all the creatives and designers who listened to our panel! It means the world to us to fr fr haha
The path forward keeps asking the same thing:
to keep showing up, creating, and sharing the stories entrusted to us.
Thank you also CDAP for the opportunity to speak in front of 3000 people (that’s insane)

WAOver the weekend, I got to speak on a panel at Graphika Manila, one of Asia’s premier creative conferences. It was also the first time in its 21-year history that they held a roundtable discussion.
Knowing I’m not some celebrity creative 😅, I honestly thought people might use our panel time to grab food or coffee. But surprisingly, the room stayed full til the very end.
Seeing people react to what we were saying, and feeling the support from the community, meant so much. 🥹
This was truly a highlight in my career.
I grew up attending Graphika, and never once dared to put “speaking there” on my bucket list. But somehow, here we are. 😤

TOYearly Creative Retreat 🎨
As someone who works in a creative field, I make it a point to attend creative conventions like @graphikamanila to keep my creative fuel going.
I believe it’s important to invest time in creative retreats where I can share space with a like-minded community and get inspired by the stories, experiences, and creative processes of the speakers.
This weekend retreat definitely boosted my motivation to finally start the passion projects I’ve been wanting to pursue this year.
