Así nace este árbol tejido para @aotafest un festival donde el arte es para la comunidad. AOTA regala espacios donde la rutina se detiene, refugios de color donde podemos volver a mirar, con calma hacia arriba.
Intervenir un árbol no es cubrirlo, es escucharlo, honrarlo y recordarnos que estamos vivos en un mundo lleno de colores. Los colores tejidos te obligan a re-descubrir un árbol que dejaste de observar por tu por la locura de la vida .
Cada hilo une manos, historias y raíces tanto de las personas que lo hicieron como de las personas que se detienen, unos minutos, a observarlo y vivirlo.

ARBelle da Costa Greene (1879-1950) was a remarkable librarian and curator who served as J.P. Morgan's personal librarian and the first director of the Morgan Library. Born Belle Marion Greener, she was the daughter of Richard Greener, the first African American graduate of Harvard. As Morgan's librarian, she became one of the most powerful art collectors in early 20th century America, helping build the Morgan's world-renowned collection of rare books and manuscripts. She was known for her exceptional expertise, shrewd negotiating skills, and ability to move confidently in elite social circles.

ILMy team and I spent two unforgettable days at Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture (#NMAAHC), immersed in history and heart. Honestly, I could’ve stayed all day!! 🥰🌟 We toured the latest curated exhibits—including one honoring my father with the incredible new Director Shanita Brackett, the brilliant Dr. Erika Gault, along with expert Scholars and Curators.
The next day, I had the joy of delivering a keynote and sharing one of my books, Malcolm Little: The Boy Who Grew Up to Become Malcolm X — followed by a moderated conversation with Ms. Tulani Salahu-Din and a book signing.
Housed in over 85,000 square feet across multiple floors, where troves of thousands of visitors retreat each day—this living repository is where legacy meets hospitality. Deeply curated, richly storied, and full of life—from rare archives to soul-nourishing cuisine—it’s a place to learn, reflect, gather, grow, and restore your #soul.
