QODemolition follows Davis Mitchell, a successful investment banker whose life changes after his wife dies in a car accident. Instead of reacting with visible grief, Davis begins questioning everything around him. He writes long complaint letters to a vending machine company and describes personal details about his life in those messages. His behavior shows that he is trying to understand his emotions and the reality of his situation. Rather than continuing his normal routine, he starts examining every part of his life.
Through the letters, Davis begins communicating with Karen Moreno, a customer service employee who becomes interested in his unusual messages. They eventually meet and spend time together, often with Karen’s son. During this period, Davis develops a new habit of physically dismantling objects around him. He takes apart household appliances, office equipment, and even parts of buildings. By breaking things down into pieces, he tries to understand how they work and why they exist.
Davis continues this process of destruction and rebuilding as he reexamines his past and his marriage. He confronts the fact that his relationship with his wife was more distant than he previously admitted. Instead of ignoring these realizations, he accepts them and begins changing his life. His actions shift from simple demolition toward creating a new direction for himself. By the end of the story, Davis starts rebuilding his life with a clearer understanding of who he is and what he wants.
