During FSC, my study routine was surprisingly simple — around 2–3 focused hours a day. No extreme schedules, no overnight study sessions. Just consistent, deliberate work every day.
Yet with this approach, I eventually secured 96% marks and achieved top position in the MDCAT
In the beginning, I wasn’t chasing marks. My focus was conceptual clarity. Whenever I studied a topic, I tried to understand it deeply and make sure I could explain it clearly in my own words.
Gradually, I realized something important about board exams: knowledge alone is not enough — presentation matters a lot.
So I started paying attention to how answers look on paper. Writing clear headings, structuring answers properly, adding diagrams where necessary, and making sure the examiner could read everything easily.
Once my concepts became strong, I added another key part to my preparation: past paper practice.
Past papers helped me understand the question patterns, the type of answers examiners expect, and how to organize answers effectively during the exam.
But one thing mattered more than the number of hours I studied: efficiency.
Those 2–3 hours were highly focused. No distractions, no passive reading — just active learning and revision. Looking back, my study efficiency during that time was probably close to 96%.
Over time, this simple system — focused study hours, strong concepts, good presentation, and consistent past paper practice — started producing results.
By the end of FSC, it helped me secure 96% marks and a top position in the Federal Board, and later the same mindset and strategy helped me top MDCAT as well.
No extreme routines.
No sleepless nights.
Just clarity, discipline, and studying the right way.

LEREAD CAPTION
1️⃣ Study in shorter intervals and take breaks, (50 minutes studying and 10 minutes break)
Especially when studying subjects like Bio and Chem as they are heavily memorisation based.
1st year bio students need to follow this.
2️⃣ During your break don’t watch tv or surf the internet. Get outside if you can and go for a walk or at least listen to some instrumental music and walk around your hall or meditate or do some art. Anything that doesn’t require super directed attention, this allows your attention to be replenished. It’s like a muscle and you gotta give it time to rest. Tv doesn’t allow for that.
I often eat something or chat with my family.
3️⃣ When studying, take notes by hand and put them in your own words. Generating material yourself will encode the material better in your brain, and you’ll remember it better.
Most important for Biology. You need to write those terms in your own words and handwriting.
For chem its great to practice the reactions especially of organic chem.
4️⃣ Don’t just reread, rehearse! quiz yourself on the materials.
Solve past papers or MCQs from key books such as scholars.
5️⃣Organising information into groups that make sense create more connections in your brain and allow you to remember things better. The more meaningful connections you make, the better.
You can also make FLOWCHARTS. They really help organise info.
6️⃣Make sure the last thing you do before bed study.
No phone, No netflix. Your brain will process what you’ve just done while you sleep and this improve recall..

The Foundation Stitch (FSC, FDC, FHDC) is the professional way to start. It gives your garments a perfect stretch and lets you adjust your count as you go. No more frogging 100+ stitches because you missed one chain!

HOW TO FSC (Foundation Single Crochet):
1️⃣ Slip knot and Ch 2.
2️⃣ Insert hook into 1st chain, YO and pull up a loop (2 loops on hook).
3️⃣ YO and pull through the first loop only (this is your ‘chain’ for the next stitch).
4️⃣ YO and pull through both loops (this completes your first SC).
5️⃣ Insert hook into the ‘chain’ you made in Step 3 and repeat!
