For my career change, I’m staying in meteorology! An opportunity came up that I couldn’t pass up on. I’m so excited to continue to grow as a meteorologist in this next role. I will be sharing soon!
Louisville, this was such a hard decision. When I first moved here, I had no idea how much I would fall in love with this city. This is BEST foodie city in the nation - can’t convince me otherwise. Most importantly, it’s the people in this town.
Thank you so much for welcoming me on the morning show two years ago. I had the opportunity to switch to evenings and will be forever grateful for the experience I’ve gained. Thank you for trusting me whenever we had severe weather.
Working alongside Doug Proffitt and Shay McAlister in the evenings has made this decision even harder. I’ve really found a great place surrounded by great people.
It’s been an emotional week but I will come back to visit ❤️

KEMeteorological winter starts today — December 1. ⛄️
Not because of the sun… but because the atmosphere has already shifted into winter mode.
As the Northern Hemisphere cools, long nights accelerate radiational heat loss, snow cover increases albedo, and the land cools faster than the ocean.
That pushes our coldest period into Dec–Jan–Feb, which is why meteorologists treat those as the true winter months.
The solstice is still meaningful —
but don’t confuse astronomy with how the weather actually behaves. ❄️
