When you consistently focus on positive experiences and thoughts, you are actively training your brain to notice and prioritize the good around you. 🗂️Here’s how it works: 📑Neural Pathways: The brain operates on a “use it or lose it” principle. The more you focus on something—whether positive or negative—the stronger the associated neural pathways become. By focusing on the good, you strengthen the circuits related to positivity and well-being. 📑The Reticular Activating System (RAS): The RAS is a network of neurons in the brainstem that acts as a filter for information. When you program your RAS to look for good things, it prioritizes that information, making you more likely to notice positive details in your environment that you might have otherwise missed. 📑Cognitive Bias: Over time, this practice helps shift your cognitive bias from a negative one (dwelling on problems or threats) to a positive one (focusing on opportunities and gratitude). This phenomenon is often nurtured through practices like gratitude journaling and mindfulness, which intentionally draw attention to positive aspects of life and reinforce the brain’s tendency to see more good♥️
