❤️ The Pulse on the Top of the Foot — A Small Signal Sent by the Heart A pulse that beats unusually strongly on the top of the foot may look like a blood vessel simply standing out, but in reality it could be a signal of a problem with the heart. When the heart becomes weak, blood cannot circulate smoothly. As a result, veins may swell and the pulse can appear stronger. These changes are often seen in congestive heart failure (CHF) or right-sided heart failure. In particular, a strong pulse in the dorsalis pedis artery (the artery on the top of the foot) may indicate that the central venous pressure (CVP) in the body has increased. In other words, the heart is not pumping blood effectively, causing fluid to remain in the peripheral parts of the body. In such cases, doctors compare the pulses of both feet and also check for leg swelling (edema) or changes in blood pressure. Even a small pulse can reveal the condition of the heart. 💡 Before the heart stops, it sends many warning signals. Recognizing them can help protect life. Follow @drx__guide and learn more about the scientific signals your body sends 🌍 #hearthealth #CHF #heart failure #medical #explore

A mother’s heart can grow in more ways than one but sometimes, it’s carrying more than it should. I couldn’t let more of February (heart month) go by without sharing 🤍 This post isn’t to scare you. The last thing I want a pregnant or postpartum woman to feel is fear or anxiety. So maybe save this for yourself (even if you aren’t pregnant or postpartum). Send it to your friends’ husbands. Help them be aware so they can help her. And let it also be a reminder: You know your body. You know your heart. Trust it. Peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) is heart failure caused by pregnancy. While it’s uncommon, it’s not unheard of. If you’re feeling exhausted beyond reason, breathless, swollen, or just not right... your body might be asking for help. SIGNS TO LOOK OUT FOR: Shortness of breath, especially when lying down Swelling in the legs, ankles, feet, or hands A racing heart or palpitations Extreme fatigue that doesn’t feel “normal” for pregnancy or postpartum Needing to sleep propped up or struggling to breathe at night Sudden weight gain from fluid retention Chest pain or pressure A persistent cough, especially at night High or low blood pressure These symptoms can overlap with the normal ups and downs of pregnancy and postpartum. But if they feel intense, new, or like more than just “motherhood exhaustion,” please listen to that. If this helped you feel seen, or could help someone you love: Save it, share it, or follow along for more about my journey in and through motherhood and the light I have discovered along the way. I love you! Xoxo and I mean it! Emi #motherhoodjourney #postpartumjourney #heartfailure #ppcm #fromtheheart

You don’t have one heart… you have TWO. The first is in your chest. The second is in your calves. Every step, every heel raise, every muscle squeeze pushes blood back to your real heart, keeps your circulation alive, and stops deadly clots from forming. But here’s the problem… Our modern lifestyle is killing it. We sit for hours. We walk less than ever. We lose muscle as we age. When your “second heart” fails, your first one is forced to work harder — circulation slows, swelling begins, blood pressure rises, and your risk of heart failure skyrockets. 💊 No medication can replace it. 💥 The only fix? Move. Walk daily. Do heel raises at your desk. Take the stairs. Keep your calf muscles strong for life. Because when one heart weakens… the other pays the price. ⚠️ Don’t wait until it’s too late — start today. Your future self will thank you. — @heart_transplant_doc ❤️

16 years old. Top student. Beautiful. Popular. She didn’t wake up in the morning. Her heart stopped. The whole school came to the funeral. No one understood why. Doctors found the cause. The parents were shocked. The girl did THIS every evening. She came home from school. Locked herself in her room. And cried. Every evening. For 2–3 hours. Quietly, so no one would hear. Stress. School. Friends. Social media. “I’m not good enough.” Her parents didn’t know. She smiled. “I’m fine.” At night — tears. What went wrong: Chronic stress + daily crying = cortisol stayed high for months. Cortisol thickens the blood. The heart is overloaded. Blood vessels tighten. Crying every night triggers adrenaline. Heart rate 120–140 beats. For hours. The body compensates. But not forever. After six months: the heart muscle was worn out. Micro-damage. Arrhythmia. One evening after another crying episode — the heart couldn’t cope. It stopped. Autopsy result: acute heart failure caused by chronic stress. In her diary: “I can’t anymore. I’m tired of crying. But I can’t stop.” A week before, she searched: “what to do if I cry every day” She knew. She didn’t tell anyone. She was afraid to look weak. What she did: She cried from stress. Alone. Quietly. Stored it inside. What thousands of teenagers are doing right now. Doctors say: “Chronic crying is not just emotions. It is physical stress on the heart. Every day — the heart wears down.” Parents say: “If a child locks themselves in every evening — it’s a signal. Check on them.” Daily tears are a cry for help. She stayed silent. She cried alone. She didn’t survive the accumulated stress. Don’t stay silent. Tell someone.

Want to know one of the most important things you can do for a heart-disease dog? It’s tracking their Breaths Per Minute (BPM) while they’re resting. This simple check can alert you to trouble before it becomes an emergency. Here’s how to do it: ● Only count when your dog is asleep or at rest ● One inhale = one breath ● Count for 60 seconds. Or 30 seconds and multiply by 2. That number is your BPM. A healthy resting BPM is usually under 30–35. Numbers above that? It might mean it’s time to adjust medications like Lasix as fluid is starting to build up. If this gets too bad, they can go into heart failure and essentially suffocate from fluid build up. — so knowing this can literally save your dog’s life. But to make it the easiest; you can use an app called cardalis. It’s free, very easy to use and will accurately track the BPM for you! 💡 Remember: small, consistent checks help you catch problems early and give your dog the best chance at a long, happy life. Every BPM counts. Comment GUIDE for our free Precious Hearts Protocol. beginning of 2023 i was diagnosed with Erythroderma and Oedema also known as extreme dermatitis and fluid retention in the extremities. My skin started of with a flare of eczema and it worsened extremely quickly until my lower legs looked like trunks for nearly six months. They say this can be caused by venous insufficiency, heart failure, kidney problems, low protein levels and liver problems and it also sometimes occurs in immobile patients with temporary immobility. when i was going through this; i have to be honest; i was terrified because i knew it could be fatal but i focused on my healing day after day; with movement. rebounding. sun exposure and most importantly the use of diuretic herbs such as burdock root. dandelion and nettle. you can also get lymphatic massages as well to help unblock the lymph nodes as well but ensure this is done by a qualified practitioner as moving the lymph fluid to quickly around the body can cause issues too. there are so many things we can suffer with at any given time but as long as its not an immediate emergency; there are plenty of ways to heal holistically and naturally. in afuruka especially we've been conditioned to run to western medications but almost all of the healing medicines used to create these drugs are created from plants found in our soil. they make pharmaceutical medicines to make money off our ignorance and our illnesses whereas if we knew what plants we can use to heal we would save ourselves, time, stress and money. wellness is something we care little about until we lose it; but theres something so special about it when you realise how much it actually costs... #tsw #chronicskin #chronicillnessawareness #eczema #foryou

#hypertension Hypertension (high blood pressure) is often called the "silent killer" because it typically has no symptoms until it causes significant damage. 1. Normal Blood Pressure Range For most healthy adults, blood pressure is categorized as follows: Category Systolic (Top Number) Diastolic (Bottom Number) Normal Less than 120 and Less than 80 Elevated 120–129 and Less than 80 Hypertension 130 or higher or 80 or higher 2. Common Complications Uncontrolled high blood pressure puts extra strain on your blood vessels and organs, leading to: Heart: Heart attack, heart failure, and coronary artery disease. Brain: Stroke, transient ischemic attack (mini-stroke), and dementia. Kidneys: Chronic kidney disease or kidney failure. Eyes: Vision loss or damage to retinal blood vessels (retinopathy). Arteries: Aneurysms (weakening/bulging of artery walls). 3. Treatment Options Treatment usually involves a combination of lifestyle changes and, if necessary, medication. Lifestyle Changes: Diet: The DASH diet (high in fruits/veggies, low in saturated fat) and reducing sodium (salt) intake. Exercise: At least 150 minutes of moderate activity per week. Weight: Losing even a small amount of weight can significantly lower BP. Habits: Limiting alcohol and quitting smoking. Common Medications: Diuretics: Help the body remove excess salt and water. ACE Inhibitors / ARBs: Relax blood vessels to allow easier blood flow. Calcium Channel Blockers: Prevent calcium from entering heart and vessel cells, helping them relax. Beta-Blockers: Reduce the heart rate and the heart's workload. Note: If you ever see a reading higher than 180/120 and experience chest pain, shortness of breath, or numbness, seek emergency medical care immediately. Would you like me to help you create a simple daily tracking log for your blood pressure readings?

Her heart. It was broken and perfect. And now it’s healed and perfect. Millie’s heart story: When I was 19 weeks pregnant with Millie, they suspected a defect but couldn’t tell us for certain… After she was born, an echo confirmed a “complete AV Canal defect” and we were told she’d need surgery by the time she was 3-6mo old. We were still grappling with her Down Syndrome diagnosis that we couldn’t even process this news. Two weeks after she got home from the NICU, we saw her cardiologist for another echo and miraculously one of the holes had closed and surgery was off the table (for now)! He called her defect a transitional av canal defect and she would need yearly monitoring. All looked fine until a little after her 3rd birthday. Millie’s cardiologist sat us down and told us he recommended surgery - She wasn’t in heart failure and wasn’t symptomatic, but the hole had grew and she was at the age where repair was appropriate. So with a heavy pain in our own hearts, in June of 2024, we handed our baby over and put our faith in God and her medical team. The hardest day of our lives. Which turned into the hardest week. They told us she’d be sitting up and maybe even eating within just a couple days but by day 5 she was unable to sit on her own, wouldn’t eat, and was either crying or sleeping. We were starting to get scared. On day 6, Georgi flew in from MN (where she’d been staying with me parents) and the moment she rubbed Millie’s cheek, everything changed… Millie sat up, ate and smiled for the first time. It was like watching life rush back into her. Millie’s heart surgery changed everything for me. I saw how fragile life is… but also how unbelievably resilient our bodies can be. I connected with Millie in a way I didn’t know was possible. The pride I felt watching her little body fight was indescribable. Millie’s mended heart changed so much for her too. Her stamina, endurance, strength. We are beyond grateful for Millie’s entire medical team. They gave our daughter a wonderful gift. Her heart was always perfect. Now it’s just mended ❤️
