Students hold vowel cards. I say the short vowel sound. The student lifts the correct vowel It only takes a few minutes, but it gives students repeated practice hearing and identifying vowel sounds. Simple routines like this help build the automaticity students need for decoding and spelling. The @imse_og course has been fantastic. #structuredliteracy #scienceofreading #OrtonGillingham
