TVVeteran music artiste @officialkongaonline joined Wake Up Nigeria today and shared strong thoughts on legacy, respect, and the future of Nigerian music.
Konga called out the growing trend of new artistes sidelining legends, urging Gen Z to stop dismissing pioneers as “old glory” and instead appreciate the foundations already laid. He stressed that legacy should outweigh personal issues, saying he would love to see a Wizkid bring Banky W on stage, regardless of whatever differences exist.
Reflecting on his journey, Konga stated that he pioneered street music in Nigeria and recalled meeting Phyno years ago, encouraging him to push for Igbo representation in the industry. He expressed pride in how far Phyno has come and how the sound now dominates.
