The journey from VA to OBM isn’t just about knowing more tech or charging higher rates (though yes, you definitely should be charging more!).

When I first started transitioning from VA to OBM work, I didn’t just wake up one day and declare myself an OBM. I slowly took on more responsibility with existing clients. I started suggesting improvements instead of just implementing what I was told. I began managing small projects before taking on full launches.
This transition period is SO important. It’s where you:
→ Learn to see the business from a bird’s eye view
→ Develop confidence in making recommendations
→ Practice having those sometimes uncomfortable money conversations
→ Start showing up as a strategic partner, not just support
