But we have accepted them so deeply into society that we think they’re HEALTHY: 1️⃣ Bread Modern bread is refined flour that digests fast and spikes blood sugar. Most people are basically eating dessert in sandwich form. ⸻ 2️⃣ Rice Mostly fast-digesting starch. Easy to overeat and can spike glucose quickly if you’re eating big portions. ⸻ 3️⃣ Natural Flavors Sounds clean. It’s actually a legal label that can hide dozens of flavor chemicals made to trick your brain into wanting more. ⸻ 4️⃣ Zero Sugar Drinks No sugar, but full of artificial sweeteners that keep your brain craving sweet things all day. ⸻ 5️⃣ Plant-Based Meat Marketed as healthy, but usually ultra-processed with long ingredient lists and additives. ⸻ 6️⃣ Protein Bars Most are just candy bars with protein powder added and a “fitness” label on the wrapper. ⸻ 7️⃣ Fruit Juice You get the sugar from fruit without the fiber that normally slows it down. ⸻ Food companies are very good at marketing food as healthy. You were taught that meat has to be cooked or it’ll kill you. That’s not science. That’s programming. Humans ate raw meat for hundreds of thousands of years before cooking was even consistent. Your ancestors didn’t carry a skillet through the wilderness. They ate it fresh. They ate it raw. And they were stronger leaner and healthier than you. When you cook meat you destroy B6 B12 folate vitamin C in organ meats CoQ10 glutathione and every digestive enzyme your body needs to absorb it. Isn’t it funny how that works 🫠 Drinking every weekend? Normal. Smoking? Vaping? Nobody says a thing. Live off ultra processed food? Completely socially acceptable. But the moment you start caring about what’s actually in your food… suddenly everyone becomes a nutrition expert. “Stop fear mongering seed oils, there’s nothing wrong with them.” Sureee do you believe the government too? 😵‍💫 Meanwhile, all I’m doing is choosing to eat real food 90% of the time. Food that actually came from the earth. From farms. From markets. Food without massive ingredient lists. And no, that doesn’t mean I never go out or enjoy life. I still love trying cute cafes. Going out to dinner with friends. Trying new restaurants when I travel. (You can see this on my page duh) But the majority of the time? I cook at home and nourish my body with real, nutrient-dense food because I respect my body and value my health. Because when you actually start paying attention to how food makes you feel: your energy, your skin, your hormones, your digestion - it’s hard to go back to not caring. Because now I get hungover from processed foods 🫣 But it’s not about being perfect. It’s about being intentional with what you’re feeding the body you have to live in every day. Your body deserves real food to function at its best.
