Florida residents Haley and her father get trapped during a massive hurricane and struggle to escape. But things get worse when they realise that the floodwater is the least of their fears.
Haley Keller (Scodelario), a competitive college swimmer, ignores evacuation orders to check on her estranged father, Dave (Pepper).
The Trap: She finds him injured in the crawl space of their childhood home. As the storm intensifies, the area floods, and they discover several large alligators have entered through a storm drain.
The pair must use Haley’s swimming skills and their knowledge of the house to navigate the rising water and escape the predators.
After several brutal encounters—including Dave losing an arm—they manage to signal a rescue helicopter from the roof just as the house is completely overtaken by floodwaters.
