What we’ve been waiting for in Liverpool! 🙌🍴 Send this video to the person you’d like to go with! Dishoom Permit Room is a casual all day bar/restaurant inspired by the 1949 Bombay Prohibition Act where liquor was banned in Bombay and aunties served drinks from their front rooms in secret. By the 1970’s people with ‘permits’ to drink alcohol (allowed for health reasons!) could buy it and Bombay’s Permit Rooms were born. Expect vibrant cocktails and a playlist to match with your favourite Dishoom dishes and sharing plates or try their breakfast available daily until 11:45am. NEW OPENING IN LIVERPOOL! 🥘🍛 For March’s supper club we had to head down to the brand new Permit Room by Dishoom and it did not disappoint. The drinks selection was so fun, in particular the ‘Permit Room Clover Club’ which had coconut caramom foam on it. We ordered 9 dishes but the standouts were probably: Cheesy naan bites Aloo Tikki Chole Zingy hot wings Dishoom black daal However, everything we ordered was amazing. Liverpool’s hottest new venue has officially arrived 🥘 I visited @dishoompermitroom after hearing so much about it, and it exceeded every expectation… “Dam good, all day!” The space is stunning, set inside a historic building on Dale Street next to Liverpools Town Hall, with soft lighting, beautiful interiors and artwork throughout. The atmosphere was unreal, especially for a weeknight, and the food was outstanding with generous portions. Here’s what I ordered… Crispy Spinach Chaat, which was crispy fried baby leaf spinach with yoghurt, chutney, spice and fresh pomegranate. It was light, zesty, full of texture and flavour, and a complete standout. It looked like a piece of art and tasted even better. Everyone tried it and agreed it’s a must order. For my main, the Lamb Biriyani arrived sealed in its own pot, with steam escaping as it was opened at the table. At first glance it’s perfectly fluffy rice, but once you dig in, you uncover tender, juicy lamb layered underneath. It was aromatic, gently spiced and beautifully balanced. And then dessert… the rum soaked pudding completely stole the show. Served in a cocktail style glass, you could smell the warm rum notes instantly. Soft, sweet, spongey and indulgent, without being too heavy. Everything from the mocktail selections to other details like the photography and artwork felt so well thought out. I also loved how the layout created an intimate, elegant and exclusive feel, whilst still feeling relaxed and friendly. Combined with fantastic staff, it really ticks every box for an exceptional restaurant. I was lucky to be invited with an amazing group of content creators, and it genuinely felt so special. The goodie bag was unreal too, beautifully put together and filled with branded goodies, drinks, spices, toiletries and incense sticks. Such a thoughtful touch, thank you! It’s also dog friendly and accessible, which I love, so Ocean will definitely be joining next time when we come back to try the breakfast. We’ve officially partnered with the team to serve a bespoke Neighbourhood coffee blend in that signature, iconic packaging. Our team stopped by to put the menu to the test, and let’s just say: they aren’t messing around. From perfectly pulled flat whites and vibrant turmeric lattes to the legendary chocolate chai, every cup hits the mark. Feeling a little fancy? The Chai Caffe Martini is an absolute must-try! Dishoom’s new Permit Room has landed in Liverpool 🌶️ @dishoompermitroom Spicy small plates, curries, Bombay-inspired cocktails and amazing desserts at this relaxed all-day café bar from the team behind Dishoom. If you love your Indian flavours and sharing plates, this spot needs to be on your Liverpool food list. Here’s what I tried: 🥜 Masala nuts addictive and every visit should start with these in my opinion 🥟 Veg samosas crispy little parcels packed with flavour. 🍤 Garlic pepper prawns punchy, garlicky and full of spice. Indo Chinese so yummy 🍛 Lamb Chettinad curry rich, spicy and easily the dish of the night. 🍛 Chicken Ruby curry creamy, comforting and a Dishoom classic. 🍚 Egg fried rice is always perfect for soaking up those curries. 🍮 Coconut caramel custard silky, sweet and the perfect finish. Everything was packed with flavour and the vibe inside is gorgeous too. Next time I’ll be heading back to try their famous breakfast menu, so stay tuned!
