Work on getting your hips stacked over your shoulders (as much as possible before you even think about lifting one leg.) Getting this alignment will require a lot of shoulder strength and mobility, so focus on that and see what a big difference it makes. so many of you said you couldn’t get your body over your head, so I slowed it down push off the 🌴 pincha, back at it in the same spot 🌅 🙏 hands in prayer behind the head lifts the neck and shifts the weight into your forearms where you need it ⬇️ commit to the push. hesitate halfway and your hips drop 💪 press down through your hands and forearms the moment your feet start to lift. the transition lives in that press ⚠️ this is advanced. build comfort with inversions and backbends separately before combining. shoulder strength and backbend depth first. ❤️ happy practicing! - let me know how it’s going #pincha #yogatransitions #advancedyoga #yogamobility

{HOW TO PROGRESS Pincha PRESS with props!} . SAVE & TRY! I always have questions about how to PRESS into pincha!! My love of inversions started with forearm balance, #pincha #pinchamayurasana !! To me, with forearms on the floor, it feels very stable. It’s a great way to give wrists a break from handstands and work presses. It’s also great training for handstand presses. I used to kick up to forearm balance, but after I learned to press into handstands (at 50years old), I tried pressing into pincha as well! It’s super fun and a little easier imo! To press in pincha shoulders also need to move forward (past) the ELBOWS as you lift off and then they move back over elbows to STACK… hips over shoulders over elbows! One of the easiest presses is bow and arrow but if you watch to the end, I will share a real time pincha PIKE Press. . PRO PIKE TIPs: hips and shoulders slide forward of elbows to lift off then back to stack ! And, squeeze legs together! You can work on all presses all this way. Start high, which requires less shoulder movement and therefore less shoulder strength, and lower as you improve. Remember to practice your exit strategy before. Just like handstands! . Is pressing in pincha easier or harder for you than in handstand? Do you need help with the exit? Lmk below 👇! . It’s never too late and you’re never too old to get stronger and learn new skills. Your flexible teacher has a huge advantage in Pincha Because they can bring the pelvis over the centre line with ease, they never had to learn the step by step mechanics the rest of us need And that’s the problem Not because they taught it wrong But because the missing steps were never obvious to them Most of what you see online is flexible bodies bypassing the most essential part of Pincha The part that actually creates strength, control & that floating lift No wonder you feel stuck or frustrated A key piece of the process is literally missing from how Pincha is commonly taught When you don’t have the range for standing splits, gravity wins unless you: Kick up using momentum or Learn the complete Pincha process that works for all bodies, not just flexible ones The band in this video isn’t used to pull the legs up It’s used to awaken a crucial part of the lifting mechanics that the legs are responsible for. With this missing piece, it allows you to: [SAVE THIS] Move the shoulders out of position so they can return into alignment Build strength & control flexible bodies never had to develop Work with time, patience & understanding instead of fast track promises Follow the full blueprint, because one step alone is never enough And when you have it, everything changes No more kicking The legs float up, pause mid air & come down with the same control Balance becomes so stable it feels effortless This is the real mechanics of Pincha You don’t see it much online because flexibility hides the missing steps I can’t do standing splits Which is exactly why I had to learn every frame of the movement without relying on momentum That is the method I teach inside Inversion Foundations A programme rooted in real biomechanics No quick fixes No missing pieces No hoping for balance You build everything from the ground up with guidance that adapts to your body, your range & your structure Doors are opening.
