SCDensity is what determines whether something floats or sinks. Every liquid has a different density, which is the amount of mass packed into a certain volume. When an object is placed in a liquid, it will float if it is less dense than the liquid around it and sink if it is more dense.
This is why the same object can behave differently in water, oil, or honey. Water has a moderate density, oil is lighter, and honey is much denser. The thicker the liquid, the greater the buoyant force it can exert on certain objects, changing how they move, float, or settle. It is a simple principle, but it explains everything from ships crossing oceans to the layers you see when different liquids are poured into the same container.
