Very simple composition: a few synth layers gradually pitched up, with some wood and metal clicks to represent the clicky parts of a film machine (might not sound like this at all, but to me it fits the animation so we roll with it haha). Sound designing a keyboard ad🔊 Process below👇 I recreated the sound design for this Kick75 ad from scratch - foley, music, and final mix. Here's the breakdown: 1. Started by syncing a few musical notes to key motion moments in the video. Built out the rest using synthesisers, then reversed some notes to create musical build-ups between transitions. 2. For the attachment sounds, I recorded clicks from random houshold items and synced them to each piece flying onto the keyboard. Layered multiple takes and added reverb to keep them subtle and blended. 3. Threw around some lego figures and kinder toys (as one does) to create the sound of keys falling onto the keyboard. You’ll need to iterate on your prompt until the result matches your vision. Be specific about motion, style, and mood. 3️⃣: Polish ✨ Import everything into your editor (I use DaVinci Resolve). Add speed ramping, motion blur, and other VFX. And most importantly, add sound design. Instead of composing the score, he teamed up with Steve Jablonsky to build a library of raw, chaotic, bass-heavy effects that would power the film’s mechanical movements and battle scenes. During a week in the studio, Skrillex crafted glitches, growls, metallic textures, and even custom sounds for the Dinobots, pushing for the “craziest” audio possible. His signature electronic sound design was layered throughout the score, giving the Autobots a dubstep edge and proving that festival sound systems and blockbuster cinema weren’t that far apart after all.
