I know everyone’s doing their best and also know that we all process heavy things in different ways. Some people cope by staying busy, some by disconnecting. I get that. But I’m having a hard time carrying on with “normal” content while families are still missing just an hour from my home. 😥 The Texas floods have wrecked me. I feel it all so deeply. I guess it’s how God wired me. Until every life is accounted for, I just can’t pretend it’s business as usual. I’m not here to guilt or judge anyone. This is just where I’m at. This is my platform, and I want to be honest about what’s heavy on my heart. ❤️‍🩹 As believers, we’re called to more. “Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.” Romans 12:15 It’s a call to compassion. To intercede. To show up however we can, in prayer or in presence. Because loving like Jesus means we don’t scroll past suffering– we enter into it with our hearts wide open. 🫶 So that’s where I am today. Weeping. Praying. Her team has since had many tough conversations with these newly arrived refugees, trying to explain why certain services that the government promised before arriving in the U.S. have now been withdrawn.
