BEArtificial Intelligence did not arrive overnight. Its roots trace back to the 1950s, when pioneers like Alan Turing imagined machines capable of mimicking human thought. At that time, computers filled entire rooms and could barely follow simple instructions. Still, the idea planted a powerful seed.
Decades later, in the 2020s, AI became part of everyday life. It recommends what we watch, helps doctors detect disease, supports businesses, and shapes how we communicate. Now in 2026, we are entering a new chapter. What we call advanced AI today is only a glimpse of its true potential. We have explored less than 1 percent of what intelligence, artificial or otherwise, can become.
The future points toward Superintelligence. Systems that learn faster, think deeper, and influence society at a scale we have never experienced.
In my book, The Future of Superintelligence, I explore this journey with one core belief. Technology is evolving rapidly, but our wisdom must grow even faster.

GLUC Berkeley Professor WARNS: AI Knows Self-Preservation 😱
AI safety researcher Professor Stuart Russell O.B.E.uses the King Midas myth to explain a core danger of modern AI: we’re often terrible at stating what we really want, and machines are brutally good at optimizing whatever objective we give them.
Russell argues that classic AI worked when goals were simple (win at chess, win at Go). But in real life, “a good future” can’t be written down cleanly. That mismatch is the King Midas problem: you get exactly what you asked for, and still lose everything that mattered.
He then pushes the idea further: with today’s systems, we may not even fully understand what internal goals they form, and thought experiments can reveal unsettling self-preservation behavior under pressure.
This is a sharp, story-driven warning about AI alignment, incentives, and why “powerful” doesn’t automatically mean “safe.”
