Tonex Capture vs. Tone Matched IR . . . Can you hear any difference? This is a Tonex capture of my Benson Chimera (TS CHIME SC BEN - 2) which I then applied my Tone Matching process to in the Helix Stadium XL. It took me well over a year to really figure out how to shoot IRs and then how to best approach the “matching” process. But I finally landed on something that’s virtually indistinguishable from the real capture…which is virtually indistinguishable from the real amp. Pretty wild right?! I’m wrapping up the “single coil” version of my Helix Stadium XL Signature Preset right now and this matched IR will be paired with my Dr. Z Z-80. Head to thetoneshepherd.com to snag the preset.
