The math behind your vertical jump! I thought this would be a cool visual way to break down how you’d use max touch to measure a vertical jump on a vertec. I definitely could have gotten an inch or two more, but warming up in a gym with the A/C pumping is no where near as good as warming up with a quick run, but nevertheless, I was fine with a 35” jump today, especially because I’ve got a bruised rib and the extension and landing were starting to get painful 🤕 #basketball #verticaljump #dunk

Notch plans to discontinue the Rope Runner Pro now that the Rope Runner Vertec is available, but New Zealand has a hardcore group of tree climbers who believe Kevin Bingham’s RRP is the ultimate climbing device. Treetools, in association with a few other international Arb suppliers, managed to secure the last of these devices from Notch, in three distinct colourways. These are arriving soon. Keep an eye on the Treetools website for availability.

VERTICAL JUMP STANDARDS 📈 Basketball is one of the sports where players will need to jump high and quickly in order to have an advantage. ⛹️‍♀️ For all of our athletes, we always go through a force plate and Vertec jump test to determine if they jump high and fast enough compared to their previous score and peers. We have set specific vertical standards for jump height and RFD for age groups, males and females, and positions such as guards, wings and forwards. 🏀 As majority of players come to us aiming to get faster and jump higher, most don’t really know how to improve their jumping. 🚀 Getting stronger, doing plyometrics, improving jump technique and losing body fat are some of major keys. BUT it must be progressed effectively to the individual to reduce the risk of pain especially during season. 🦿 If you are a hooper that wants to measure and improve your vert, come and do a free vertical jump assessment. 🔥 Happy to help! 🙌🏽

This week I witnessed a human fly! @tyy2.0 I calculated his flight time at exactly 1 second, which is the highest I’ve personally tested. He touched 11’4.5 on the vertec with standing reach of 85. After re-measuring the vertec it came back half an inch lower so his official touch was 11’4. Standing reach was performed with a full tilt. If measured by NBA combine standards with flat shoulder it probably would have been a 53 inch vert 👀. His first time testing with me he hit a 49 on the same vertec with the same standing reach. Crazy that he’s still improving! Probably has even more untapped potential.
