Panic attack vs anxiety attack - they don’t look or feel the same. ⚠️🧠 This is why so many people feel confused. On one side 👇 😮‍💨 Panic attack Shaky hands. Racing heart. Overwhelming fear. Your body hits the alarm button all at once 🚨 On the other 👇 😐 Anxiety attack Still. Quiet. Staring into space. Your mind is loud, but your body looks calm. Both are real. Both are exhausting. And neither means you’re broken. Here’s the part no one tells you 👇 Just because it looks different, doesn’t mean it’s less serious. ✨ Important: This is not medical advice. If you’re unsure, your symptoms are new, or you’re worried - always get checked by a medical professional. The difference between a panic attack and an anxiety attack 🤍 Both feel like you’re dying. Both make you think something’s seriously wrong. Both can feel invisible to everyone around 💥 A PANIC ATTACK hits like a truck. Out of nowhere. Heart pounding. Can’t breathe. Convinced you’re having a heart attack. Peaks in 10 minutes. Leaves you shattered. 🌊 AN ANXIETY ATTACK builds slowly. Chest tight. Mind racing. Can’t calm down. Lasts for hours or days. No sudden peak. Just constant dread I’ve experienced both hundreds of times 🫂 Here’s what nobody tells you: 💭 Your body isn’t broken. It’s stuck in survival mode. And there’s a way out 🕊️ If you’re dealing with either of these, you’re not alone 🤍 Comment “calm” and I’ll send you what actually helped me 👇 #panicattack #anxietyattack #anxiety #panicattacks #mentalhealth

Not every panic attack looks dramatic. Sometimes it looks like silence… and survival happening at the same time. What it feels like: A panic attack is sudden and intense — racing heart, shortness of breath, dizziness, trembling, chest tightness. It feels like losing control or dying, even when you’re physically safe. An anxiety attack builds gradually — excessive worry, restlessness, muscle tension, overthinking, irritability. It feels like your mind won’t switch off. Psychological insight: Both are linked to an overactivated fight-or-flight response. Your nervous system detects threat — even when there isn’t one. The amygdala signals danger, cortisol rises, and your body prepares to survive. It’s not weakness. It’s a dysregulated stress response. What it looks like externally: • Someone going quiet • Sudden withdrawal from conversations • Rapid breathing or fidgeting • Avoidance behaviors • Tearfulness or irritability What to do in the moment: 1. Label it: “This is anxiety. I am safe.” 2. Practice slow breathing (4-4-6 method). 3. Ground yourself using the 5-4-3-2-1 technique. 4. Relax your jaw and shoulders intentionally. 5. Let the wave peak and pass — don’t fight it. To reduce frequency long-term: • Improve sleep hygiene • Limit caffeine intake • Regular physical movement • Journaling triggers • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques • Professional psychological support when needed You are not “too sensitive.” You are overstimulated — and your nervous system can learn safety again. A panic attack comes on suddenly and peaks within minutes. Your body floods with fear so intensely that many people believe they’re having a heart attack or about to die. Your chest tightens, your heart races, and it can feel like your body has completely lost control. An anxiety attack tends to build slowly over time. It’s racing thoughts, spiraling worries, and a constant sense of dread that makes it hard to stay present. Instead of an explosive surge of fear, the mind retreats inward trying to manage the overwhelming stream of thoughts. Both are deeply distressing experiences. Both can make a person feel powerless in their own body and mind. They just move through the nervous system in very different ways. If you’re experiencing one, grounding can help bring your body back to the present moment: 1️⃣ Run cold water or ice on your hand, this will cause you to focus on the present and cool your body down 2️⃣ Sit with your arms wrapped around you, the pressure will help trigger the vagus nerve and bring calm 3️⃣ Focus on your breath in for 4, hold for 4, breath out for 4, hold for 4. The change in breathing will tell your body you are safe Save this for later Follow for more ❤️‍🩹 @djweeks_

explained ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Panic attacks and anxiety attacks are often labeled as the same things , but the experience inside and outside body can feel different A panic attack often comes with a sudden surge of intense fear that pushes the body into full fight-or-flight mode. It can make us restless and overwhelmed with energy (pacing back and forth, shaking, breathing heavily, or holding our head as our mind races) The body feels like it has to move to release the intensity, almost like the nervous system is trying to escape a danger that isn’t physically there. An anxiety attack can feel more like a heavy cloud settling over us. there’s a constant pressure of worry and tension. Thoughts swirl around and around, and the body can feel stuck. it can feel like we’re sitting under a storm of thoughts, while the anxiety circles our mind. Both experiences are real and valid responses from a nervous system trying to protect us. They just show up in different ways. one that pushes the body into frantic motion, and one that can leave us feeling trapped under the weight of anxious thoughts. Have you experienced either? Let us know ⬇️⬇️

Sour candies like Warheads can help interrupt a panic or anxiety attack! The intense sourness can act as a sensory “shock” to the system, pulling your focus away from racing thoughts or overwhelming feelings of anxiety. This sudden shift in focus activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which can help calm you down. This works similarly to other grounding techniques. It can serve as a quick trick to break the cycle during an acute episode, giving you enough pause to regain a sense of control. Ultimately, any candy with a strong sour flavor can work, but the stronger and more intense the sourness, the better it will serve as a sensory “shock.” 🎥 via TT/lindsaywadmankelly #anxiety #panicattack #stressedout #doctoradvice #homeremedies #sourcandy

❤️ Interesting Fact: Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022) — The animation team made a deliberate artistic shift for this film, deciding to move away from the photorealistic style of the previous Shrek franchise entries. Instead, they employed a technique described as a “storybook painting” style, using 2D painted brushstrokes mapped onto 3D character models. This visual approach was intended to reflect a more stylized, fairy-tale aesthetic while allowing the animators greater freedom in depicting exaggerated action and emotional moments. The specific scene depicted in the video, where the main character experiences a panic attack, was developed with input from mental health professionals to ensure its portrayal was both respectful and accurate. The directors wanted to realistically show the physical symptoms of an anxiety attack, such as hyperventilation and a rapid heartbeat, within an animated context. The sound design during this sequence was also mixed to simulate the character’s internal sensory overload, dampening the background noise to emphasize his heavy breathing and the rhythmic heartbeat effect.
