DEThis is how a REAL production cloud application is built on AWS 🚀
Not demos. Not toy projects.
User traffic first hits CloudFront (CDN) for speed and global delivery.
Before reaching the app, AWS WAF blocks attacks like SQL injection, bots, and abuse.
Requests then go through an Application Load Balancer, which routes traffic to different services.
At the core runs Amazon EKS (Kubernetes):
Frontend
Orders
Payments
Each runs as an independent microservice that can scale on demand.
An Ingress Controller handles TLS, routing, and zero-downtime deployments.
Data layer is split properly:
RDS (PostgreSQL) → orders & transactions
DynamoDB → carts & sessions
S3 → images & invoices
Heavy tasks are async: Orders trigger EventBridge → SQS → Lambda for emails, invoices, inventory updates, and analytics.
Security & reliability:
Secrets Manager for credentials
IAM roles for pods
CloudWatch + Prometheus + Grafana for monitoring
VPC Flow Logs for network visibility
This is cloud-native, scalable, secure DevOps architecture used in real companies.

VII’ve never talked about this before.
It was the beginning of August, and I was 9 months pregnant with my 3rd child when I received a message from an AWS recruiter. At that time I was already planning to move inside Accenture to the cloud org.
I felt as I couldn’t miss this opportunity. I didn’t tell the AWS recruiter about my pregnancy, as I had faced discrimination in the past, so I went ahead and scheduled my interview for August 26th, which happened to be a day after my daughter was born.
The 1st interview went great and I scheduled my technical interviews 3 weeks apart so I could prepare between them. I started building hands-on projects in during baby naps. It all was going fine until…
September 16th, I received a call informing me that my father had died... I don’t think that at that time I could really process how I felt and what was happening around me. It was kind of pretending that everything was fine - and just trying to do it all: organize funerals, take care of a newborn, and prepare for interviews.
I remember cheering myself up as I was passing from one interview stage to another, as this whole prep process actually kept me sane.
On December 15th, when my daughter was 3.5 months old, I joined AWS, and it was the first day when they found out I had a baby.
I didn’t have a lot of real-world implementation experience, so in my interviews, I talked about my side projects.
For those who are in a similar situation and want to transition to the cloud but don’t get a chance to work on AWS projects at their current job, I created a list with 3 AI projects to get started (using Bedrock, PartyRock, Amazon Q, serverless)
