To turn on 2FA follow these steps ; Tap settings —> Tap security and then scroll down and tap Two-factor Authentication —> Tap Get started —> tap text message —> Then insert the send to your phone and tap next. EMAILS FROM INSTAGRAM Emails from Instagram shows you all the emails Instagram has sent to you. So when those scammers send you messages impersonating Instagram, you can check your instagram account and confirm that the email is a scam. To see the list of emails from instagram do the following ; Go to settings —> Tap Security —> Tap Emails from Instagram LOGIN ACTIVITY This feature allows you to see all the devices your Instagram device is logged in on and you can quickly remove any device you don’t recognise. Go to settings —> Tap Security —> Tap Login-activity BACKUP CODES If you have Turned on 2FA but can’t access the phone number or phone you usually get your codes from, the backup codes will come in handy so always make sure you download your backup codes after setting up 2FA. To Access backup codes, Go to settings —> Tap Security —> Tap Two-factor Authentication —> Tap additional methods —> Tap Backup codes —> Take a screenshot and store it these codes securely. LOGIN REQUESTS For every new device that tries to login to your account, Instagram will notify you and ask for your approval. Go to settings —> Tap Security —> Tap Two-factor Authentication —> Tap additional methods —> Turn on Login requests by sliding the toggle right. APPS AND WEBSITES Sometimes, you accounts get hacked because of those dodgy apps and websites you’ve unknowingly given access to your instagram account. Make it habit to always review the apps and websites that are permitted to access your account.
