Before moving to Spain I had NO idea that basically the whole world (except the U.S.) keeps the fork in the left hand the entire time.
As an American I grew up cutting my food, putting the knife down, switching the fork to my right hand, and then eating. Totally normal.
Then I get to Spain and everyone’s just cutting and eating with the same hands like it’s nothing. No switching. No pause. Just smooth.
The first time my Spanish friends saw me switch hands mid-meal they looked at me like I was doing something illegal 😂
