Adventurers wanted, but don’t say we didn’t warn you. Views like this have to be earned, so grab your water bottle and head to Black’s Beach via the staircase on Citizens Trail at the Torrey Pines Gliderport, where the effort is great but the payoff is greater. Sturdy shoes are a must, as are a desire for dramatic scenery and a wanderlust for intensity. This one is tough, but with a tremendous reward. It’s the longest beach here in Mackay measuring in at 6km and is my favourite beach to go for a walk. If you love sea shells make sure you check out the southern end where you’ll find thousands and thousands scattered along the sand!
