The ferry arrived from Surabaya. The crew tried to right the ship by managing ballast but failed. Tugs attempted to hold the ferry upright by pulling towlines, which only worsened the situation. Finally, the crew left the ship, and she shifted perpendicular to the berth, capsized portside and sank, remaining partially above the waterline.
