CVC words are ideal for beginners because they have clear beginning, middle, and ending sounds, making them easy to segment and blend. They are among the first words preschoolers learn to read. 🔷 How to use the CVC Word Slider Board: 1. Use a dry erase marker to write the beginning and ending consonants on the slider board. 2. Move the slider board down to align with each vowel to form a CVC word. 3. Quick CVC practice. I added some magnets behind some of our flashcards so I wouldn’t have to keep writing/erasing on the board. We practice blending two sounds together and then we add that ending sound to read our words. Later on we’ll start using other types of blending (segment/blend) (continuous) but for now we practice this way because it’s easier for those that tend to drop off or change a sound. #scienceofreading #phonics #teachersofinstagram #phonicsfun #iteachk #literacy #igteachers #teachersofig #sor #teachershare
