Padahal, dalam perjalanan panjang Sang Buddha, Devadatta justru berperan sebagai sahabat sekaligus “guru tersembunyi”. 📖 Dalam Jataka, Devadatta muncul berulang kali sebagai sosok yang menantang, menguji, bahkan melawan. Namun di balik itu, setiap konflik & rintangan yang ia timbulkan justru menjadi “batu asah” yang menyempurnakan parami Boddhisatva: kesabaran, welas asih, keteguhan, hingga kebijaksanaan. 🌱 Maka, Devadatta tidak bisa hanya dilihat sebagai antagonis. Ia adalah bagian dari cerita besar: sahabat yang dengan caranya sendiri membantu Boddhisatva menapaki jalan menjadi seorang Buddha. Refleksi untuk kita hari ini: Kadang orang yang “menyulitkan” justru adalah guru yang membuat kita bertumbuh. Kita belajar sabar, bijaksana, dan rendah hati—karena ada ujian dari mereka. 🙏 Mari melihat tantangan bukan sebagai kutukan, tapi sebagai kesempatan untuk melatih batin.
