With the new @catconstructionemea Cat Command system, the operator no longer needs to be on the site to operate heavy equipment.
This was part of the demo Caterpillar offered to @avescoag customers during their trip to Málaga in mid-September

The operator, comfortably seated in the Cat Command station, continues to see the work site as if he were there thanks to cameras all around the machines and a refresh rate of only a few milliseconds.
This new technology can enhance the safety of the operators in potentially dangerous conditions, such as in a contaminated or perilous environment during natural disasters…

And of course, even if the operator is no longer on site, safety is still the main concern. Before starting, the machine automatically honks and blue lights on the cabin announce to everyone present that the machine is going to be driven remotely

But what happens if there is an emergency on site? The site foreman would press the A-Stop button which stops the machine until it is safe to return to work

But let’s not forget: Whether working remotely with the Cat Command station or on the site, all operators must have the right skills and training to perform their tasks safely and competently with the specific machinery in use

Great operators are not going to disappear!
