TEFULL STEPS👇🏼Simple DIY wood tray build using poplar—
1. 1x8 board, any kind - I used poplar.
2. Trace stain or small can at end of board, leave enough room for tray edge. (At least 1 inch)
3. Measure how long you want the tray, mark. (There’s no wrong answer, make it your own)
4. Trace can again at that mark.
5. Connect sides of circle to complete shape. (Doesn’t have to be perfect, just connected)
6. Drill hole with large wood bit inside shape big enough for jigsaw blade to fit.
7. Drop in jigsaw blade and cut out shape.
8. Cut end of board to disconnect from 1x8
9. Cut second piece of board same length as first.
10. Glue the cut out top to solid bottom piece and clamp.
11. After glue is set, use multi-mark tool (or you can freehand) to set the thickness of the trays edge. Place pencil at end of multi-mark tool and trace all the way around.
12. Use jigsaw to cut out final shape along that line.
13. Sand and shape as desired.
14. Stain
15. Bob’s your uncle.
(Note: you can stain before gluing if you want even stain look or after if you prefer more distressed look)
