CADrone Shot in a No-Drone Zone 🚗✨
This location is right next to an airport where drones are completely banned. But that didn’t stop the shot.
I mounted the Insta360 X5 on top of the car using three base suction mounts and the Insta360 Extended Edition Selfie Stick. The camera records 360° video, so later in post-production I reframed the angles to make it look like a smooth drone shot.
No drone in the air.
Just smart shooting and the power of insta360.

GODrone havadayken kadın telefona dalmış, etrafında olan biteni fark etmeden ekrana odaklanmıştı. O sırada yukarıdan gelen drone, taşıdığı suyu dengesiz bir anda bıraktı ve su doğrudan kadının üzerine döküldü. Beklenmedik bu durum kısa süreli bir şaşkınlık yarattı.
Suyun etkisiyle drone kontrolünü kaybetti ve kısa sürede arızalanarak çalışmaz hale geldi. Kadın ise sadece ıslanmıştı; herhangi bir zarar görmedi. Olayın ardından durum kontrol edildi, kimsenin yaralanmadığı anlaşıldı. Yaşananlar, küçük bir aksilikle sonuçlanan ama kimseye bir şey olmadan kapanan bir an olarak geride kaldı.

RAVEN is a fixed-wing drone with bird-inspired legs. It walks, hops over obstacles, and jumps into flight without a runway or catapult.
The surprise: jumping takeoff is 10x more energy efficient than a static launch. The legs aren’t a cost. They’re doing real work.
EPFL’s Lab of Intelligent Systems built it at 620g total. 230g goes to the legs. The rest flies.

In winter, snow and ice can build up on high-voltage power lines. That extra weight puts huge pressure on the cables and towers — and if it gets bad enough, lines can snap or cause power outages for entire regions.
So crews in China are using drones to do something surprisingly simple: Using drones to clear ice off high-voltage power cables. The drone doesn’t spray anything or melt the ice.
It carries a 23kg metal rod😂😂
The drone flies along the cable and literally hits it, knocking the snow and ice straight off so it falls to the ground. No climbing towers. No workers hanging in freezing wind. Just physics doing its thing.
It’s a little brutal. Very effective.
And honestly… kind of satisfying to watch 💁🏻♀️❄️This is what “good use of drones” actually looks like.
