DRAccording to the CDC, increased breastfeeding among black women could decrease infant mortality rates by as much as 50%.
Breastfeeding is associated with reduced risk for various infections, necrotizing enterocolitis, sudden infant death syndrome, type 1 diabetes, and obesity among infants, and with reduced risk for high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, ovarian cancer, and breast cancer among mothers.
Fewer Black infants (74.1%) are ever breastfed compared with Asian infants (90.8%), White infants (85.3%) and Hispanic infants (83.0%).
60% of mothers do not breastfeed for as long as they intend to.
How long a mother breastfeeds her baby is influenced by many factors including:
🤱🏽 Issues with lactation and latching
🤱🏽 Concerns about infant nutrition and weight
🤱🏽 Mother’s concern about taking medications while breastfeeding
🤱🏽 Unsupportive work policies and lack of parental leave
🤱🏽 Cultural norms and lack of family support
🤱🏽 Unsupportive hospital practices and policies.

첫째는 완모 7개월때 코로나에 걸려
갑작스레 수유를 중단하게되어 아쉬움이 남았었다.
둘째는 완모 12개월 후 미련없이 단유하려 했지만
막상 여기까지오니 너무 아쉬워 13개월인 지금
단유 중비중에 있다 .. ㅎㅎ!
아이 둘 다 90일차에 복직 하면서
완모를 한다는건 쉬운일만은 아니었지만
단점보단 장점이 크고 아이가 자랄수록
나와 아이 모두 편안하다는걸 알기에 노력했고요 -
내 인생 중 가장 값지고 따스했던 순간으로 남을 것 같다💖

TAAnother day crying on the internet because my favorite thing to do!!!!! 😂 Truly got in my feels after my baby’s recent nursing strike (which has thankfully ended 🙏🏽) and have been reflecting on 9 months of exclusively breastfeeding.
