Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) – Real Footage Real ECT footage usually shows a controlled medical procedure performed in a hospital under strict supervision. It is very different from how ECT is often shown in movies. ⸻ 🔹 1. Preparation • The patient is taken to a procedure room (similar to an operation theater). • Vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels are monitored. • An IV line is inserted for medications. ⸻ 🔹 2. Anesthesia • The patient is given general anesthesia, so they are fully asleep and feel no pain. • A muscle relaxant is administered to prevent strong body movements during the procedure. ⸻ 🔹 3. Electrical Stimulation • Two electrodes are placed on the scalp (either on one side or both sides of the head). • A small, carefully controlled electric current is passed for a few seconds. • This induces a controlled seizure in the brain, usually lasting 20–60 seconds. • In real footage, you may see only minimal movement of the hands or feet due to the muscle relaxant. ⸻ 🔹 4. Recovery Phase • The electrical stimulus is stopped immediately after the seizure. • The patient is monitored closely. • Within 5–10 minutes, the patient starts waking up. • Mild side effects like temporary confusion, headache, or short-term memory issues may occur. • Most patients can go home the same day, depending on medical advice. ⸻ 🧠 Why Is ECT Given? ⁨ ⁨ العلاج بالصدمات الكهربائية (ECT).…. حقيقة طبية مفلازي ما في الإجراء ده كلنا سمعنا عنه بس نادرا ما بيكون فيه تصوير حقيقي ليه العلاج بالصدمات الكهربائية (ECT) هو إجراء طبي نفسي معتمد عالميًا، يستخدم في حالات نفسية شديدة عندما لا تستجيب للعلاج الدوائي، أو عندما نحتاج نتيجة سريعة تحمي حياة المريض. ما هو ال ECT؟ هو إحداث نوبة كهربائية علاجية مُتحكَّم فيها داخل المخ، باستخدام تيار كهربائي بسيط، ويتم الإجراء تحت تخدير كلي ومرخيات عضلات، في بيئة طبية آمنة تمامًا. متى نلجأ للعلاج بالصدمات؟ الاكتئاب الشديد جدًا (خاصة مع أفكار انتحارية) الاكتئاب المقاوم للأدوية الهوس الشديد في الاضطراب ثنائي القطب بعض حالات الفصام (خصوصا الكاتاتونيا) الاكتئاب أثناء الحمل (كخيار آمن نسبيًا) كيف يتم الإجراء؟ تخدير كلي قصير وضع أقطاب على الرأس تمرير تيار كهربائي لثوان نوبة علاجية تستمر أقل من دقيقة الجلسة كاملة لا تتجاوز 10-15 دقيقة عدد الجلسات؟ من 6 إلى 12 جلسة غالبًا، بمعدل 2-3 سبوعتا. هل هو آمن؟ ٧ نعم، وعالي الفاعلية ب نسب التحسن قد تصل إلى 90% في بعض حالات الاكتئاب الشديد الآثار الجانبية المحتملة صداع بسيط تشوش مؤقت ضعف مؤقت في الذاكرة قصيرة المدى X لا يسبب تلفًا بالمخ X لا يغير الشخصية لا يُستخدم بدون موافقة المريض أو ذويه X الخلاصة العلاج بالصدمات الكهربائية ليس تعذيبًا، بل علاج طبي منقذ للحياة عند استخدامه في الحالات المناسبة وتحت إشراف متخصص. . #nurse_abdallah #تمريض_تعليم_تدريب_نصائح_طبية_nursing_student_medical #تمريض #ترند #nurse⁩
