Face yoga could very well work—if you’re willing to consistently put in the time. ⁠ ⁠ Despite varying opinions on the efficacy of face yoga, a 2018 study—believed to be the first clinical trial to assess facial exercise—reported that it does work, albeit with some caveats. Women with an average age of 53 who undertook 30 minutes of daily facial exercises for 20 weeks saw “significant improvement in upper and lower cheek fullness.” The study’s limitations included that participants consisted only of women, that there were many dropouts and a small sample size.⁠ ⁠ We might start with 10 minutes a day instead of 30 🙈⁠ ⁠ (You could also try Mosaic, our single daily supplement, which combats skin aging from the inside out and contains ingredients that are clinically proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and increase moisture content.)

As we mature, women experience specific hormonal changes that can wreak havoc on our bone density and muscle mass, among other things. Luckily, exercise is quite literally a miracle cure for some of those negative impacts and changes. The best type of fitness routine, no matter your age, is a balanced one. No matter what, you should always prioritize strength training and cardio, along with recovery. According to current guidelines, adults 18–64 should aim for 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week (think: brisk walks, dance workouts, or jogging) plus two strength sessions. Break it down, and that’s just 30 minutes a day, five days a week. Then, use some of the tips in this Reel to personalize your approach!
