COThis 6 week growth spurt can last any time between 2-7 days!
This age is also a common “peak of fussiness.” So if you’ve noticed this…. You’re not going crazy!!!
Keep feeding! Continue with your regular sleep/bedtime “routines” (as much as you can with a 6 week old 🙃) and hang in there for a few days!!!
Take comfort in the fact that fussiness should gradually start to improve from now on.
Absolutely feed on demand and follow those feeding cues!

HEDid you know that you can start teaching your baby sign language as early as 6 months and that most babies will typically use their first sign between 6-9 months? I have a whole section in my new book about mealtime-related signs that you can teach your baby to help make starting solids easier. Comment #sign and I’ll DM you a link!
As a pediatric dietitian (and mom of 3) I love baby sign language in the context of mealtimes, because it can help:
➕️ Increase communication between baby and caregiver
➕️ Support responsive feeding (recognizing baby’s cues for hunger and fullness and responding to them right away)
➕️ Reduce everybody’s frustration when baby needs or wants something food-related that they cannot yet use words to communicate
