As I continue to walk down this path of personal growth and development, becoming a functional medicine health coach was something that made perfect sense. I have been obsessed with prevention and doing my best to live in a state of optimum health ever since my pau pau (maternal Chinese grandmother) was diagnosed with cancer when I was 20 years old. It pained me to watch her struggle with the disease and chemo treatment, and it also prompted me to I throw myself into research, educating myself about what I could do to prevent the disease from happening to me in the future. Everything I read pointed back to modifiable lifestyle factors; so I committed to practicing them daily. Functional medicine spoke to me because FM doctors focus on finding the root cause of disease instead of just treating your symptoms. FM practitioners look at everything from your emotional, spiritual and mental health, to your nutrition, stress, sleep, relationships and movement. Knowing that YOU have the choice to change the trajectory of your health and lower your risk of developing disease is a powerful place to be. Estão abertas até 15/8 as inscrições para o edital do Fundo Municipal da Criança e do Adolescente do Recife (FMCA), de R$ 1,7 milhão. São 6 eixos: acolhimento institucional; violência sexual e doméstica; atendimento às crianças e adolescentes em situação de rua; prevenção e apoio socioeducativo; 1ª infância e aprendizagem. Sendo R$ 100 mil para projetos de acolhimento e R$ 82 mil para cada um dos demais eixos. Para participar, a organização precisa estar registrada há pelo menos um ano no Conselho Municipal de Defesa e Promoção dos Direitos da Criança e do Adolescente do Recife (Comdica), possuir experiência comprovada e outras condições descritas no edital (link na bio).
