At the same time, the beverage side keeps getting bigger: CoBank says ready-to-drink dairy nutritionals and protein shakes grew 71% in four years to $8.1 billion in 2025, NIQ says protein claims in beverages were up 100.9%, and Grand View Research says the U.S. functional drinks market reached about $48.5 billion in 2024 and is projected to keep growing.
