A man named **Jason Thomas Nichols** went viral in April 2026 after a **Ring doorbell video** from Fairfield, California showed him aggressively banging on a stranger’s door, demanding “Where is your daughter?” while wearing a long black coat and flip-flops.
When the homeowner asked who he was through the camera, he leaned in and declared:
“My name is **Harry Dresden**, motherf—ker. This is my neighborhood. Open the door or I will end you.”
(“Harry Dresden” is the wizard detective from Jim Butcher’s *Dresden Files* book series.)
He ripped off the doorbell camera, broke in through a sliding glass door, and continued ranting inside. The homeowner confronted him (with a shovel). Police arrested him on the spot.
He faces multiple felonies including first-degree burglary, criminal threats, assault with a deadly weapon, and vandalism. The bizarre mix of a creepy home invasion + random fantasy book LARP made the footage explode online.
