ARHave been in the industry for 4+ years and managing GitHub issues is still overwhelming. Thousands of bug reports and feature requests pile up, and sorting through them manually can take hours.
Sometimes, urgent problems got missed because there was just too much to handle. I came across this GitHub Issue Prioritization Agent by Postman, and it has made a huge difference.
This AI-powered agent reviews GitHub issues and comments to create a summary, analyze sentiment, and score urgency automatically.
The setup was simple: I connected my GitHub and Slack accounts and created a custom Slack command like /summarize-issue to trigger the agent.
Here’s what the agent does:
- Fetches the full issue and all comments,
- Summarizes the main points,
- Detects emotions like frustration or urgency,
- Counts reactions and upvotes,
- Identifies competitor mentions or workarounds.
Now, instead of spending hours reading through every issue, I can get instant summaries and know exactly what needs attention - right in the slack.
