Fascia adhesions are used interchangeably as micro structures that could prevent the fascia tissue from over gliding OR as fascia structures that aren’t optimal and disorganized. What it feels like: When you are doing manual therapy or even self fascial rolling, it could feel very tender and rope like sensation. It could feel like a bump and uneven. If a car mechanic removed 22KG of car parts and told you he doesn’t know what it does but he will fix your car and make it faster, would you let him? That 22KG missing is your fascia. Fascia is a holistic bodily tissue and organ previously disregarded as filler material and removed during dissection of human body, fascia is inside and outside of muscle fiber and muscle groups. It encapsulates nerves, arteries and lymphatic systems. Why is it important to know fascia? Because it affects our tensegrity system. The fascia is the elastic component that stores energy, but if it does not have tension, the entire tensegrity system fails to operate optimally and can break and leak energy. The fascia tensegrity system is based on stabilized elements like the muscles and bones and elastic elements like the fascia and tendons, if the tension is reduced in the Fascia and tendon, the holistic system reduces its energy storage. One becomes more muscular driven. Read Caption To Understand… Increase Power Without Adding Muscle 👇🏻 The body is connected holistically through the Fascia if fostered naturally through childhood development, or after undergoing Hyperarch Fascia Training. This process begins at the feet with the Hyperarch Mechanism (Fascially Molded feet). Over time this mechanism remodels the upstream Fascia connections across multiple muscles and joints to connect into the glutes and core in theory. Gluteus Maximus works through 80% of fascia lata connections (Stecco et al 2023). Training the glutes muscle will only be targeting existing connections and increasing in muscle size, however the rest of the 80% of fascia connections could remain untapped. The Hyperarch foot to glute connection can also extended upstream into the core, which allows athletes to generate more force for powerful shots like this one. Hyperarch Fascia Driven Athlete’s movement is not driven by individual/isolated muscle contractions. Fascial connections from the foot to glute help facilitate muscle co-contractions, drive the the body acts as one unit and can deliver more force when fascially integrated this way, as opposed to in segmented parts(ie quad and calf fatigue). When fascial integration is optimal, actions like this are made possible without adding any extra bodyweight. Fascia is the connective tissue network that envelops and supports our muscles, bones, and organs, playing a critical role in both injury rehabilitation and sports performance. Understanding fascia is essential because it is one continuous system with no beginning or end that affects all bodily systems, contains up to 22kg of material and is the bodies largest sensory organ and communication network. When the Fascia Tensegrity Network is compromised, it can lead to chronic pain and injuries that may not resolve on their own, or with mainstream muscle only based approaches, which overlook the fascia. By addressing the fascia connections and integration through utilising its properties and behaviours with specific rehabilitation techniques during Hyperarch Fascia Training, eating foods that promote fascial health, recovering properly and practicing specific mediation to enhance the mind to body neurological connection, we can resolve complex problems including fascia imbalances/weakness, biomechanics dysfunctions, compensatory patterns and chronic pain. Injury rehabilitation often focuses on isolated muscles or joints, but fascia is what holds these structures together! Read caption to understand…NOT SKIP STEP 5!! STEP 1️⃣ Grab a cotton towel and place on the ground. STEP 2️⃣ Place your foot onto the towel and create a ‘staggered’ stance. STEP 3️⃣ With the foot that is forward, lift the heel off the ground and push 60% of bodyweight into the ball of the foot. STEP 4️⃣ Start your timer and begin to curl the towel with your toes. Do NOT lift the ball of your foot off the ground. STEP 5️⃣ If your fascial connection is good, you will begin to feel your glutes burn after a short amount of time. Do NOT manually contract your glutes. STEP 6️⃣ After the duration of the exercise, use a tennis ball roll on your feet and any other muscle group that ‘burned’ during the exercise for 30 seconds. SETS/REPS 🦶🏻 Complete 3-5 minutes on both feet 3-5 times per week. WHERE DO WE WANT TO FEEL THE EXERCISE? ⁉️ In the glutes and core. Depending on your level of fascial connection and myofascia continuity. this may take a while, so stay consistent and focus your mind onto the exercise - NO music 🧘🏼‍♂️ Myofascial continuity influences force transmission, as we age, this fascia connection and continuity degenerates.
