Hyrox for beginners 🏃🏼‍♀️ here’s where to start 👇🏻 3 training tips 🤓 If you’re new to Hyrox it’s pretty normal to have no idea where to even start so here’s what I would do 👇🏻 1- build your running and build your aerobic base. Start slow and build up your kms and time on your feet. You can mix running with erg work to reduce any impact 2- strength training - push/pull movements, progressively getting stronger and lifting heavier. We want to build muscle strength AND endurance so we need to focus on strength in one phase of training and the endurance in another. This depends on how many weeks out your race is and is also person dependant 3- Practise the stations, how the ergs feel, how are wall balls right now, how does the sled feel right now? Doing a Hyrox Simulation is also a great place to start because we can see what feels good and what we need to work on. There’s so many variables with training that come into play and it varies from person to person. But this is where I would start. A simple beginner structure could look like this: • 1 strength session – building muscle and power • 1 running session – improving pace and aerobic base • 1 hybrid workout – combining running with functional stations • 1 longer aerobic session – steady run or bike for endurance Consistency with a structured plan will always beat random workouts. HYROX prep workout, full workout details below⬇️ WORKOUT: Set a timer for 60 min (or for however much time you have). The rep scheme is 25-20-15-10-15-20-25 of the following exercises: ▪️Burpees ▪️Wallballs ▪️Sit-ups ▪️BB thrusters ▪️DB Walking lunges ▪️Push-ups You’ll start with doing 25 burpees, then 25 Wallballs, 25 sit-ups, etc until you get through all 6 exercises. Then you start from the top but dropping the reps to 20 - so 20 burpees, 20 Wallballs, etc until the rep scheme is complete. Run remainder of time (if time is set for 60 min) If you only have 30min, that works! Do as many rep schemes as possible in that time. So you’re doing your first HYROX? I went into my first HYROX with little training and having never done a wall ball and still survived🤣 👉The scariest part of HYROX is trying to check in on time hahaha, once you’re all registered and in the warm up zone the weight on your shoulders will start to settle 👉 Nothing can prepare you for how your legs feel on the run after lunges, honestly this hurt me the most 👉 Don’t put too much pressure on yourself, soak in the experience and enjoy the atmosphere because it’s like no other 👉 practise, practise, practise…sounds simple but I made the rookie mistake to not practise running enough so each run became slower and slower for me

(My least favorite exercise at Hyrox!) ✅ Negative Push-Ups & Hold Focus on the eccentric phase to build strength for burpee board jumps. ✅ Board Jumps Practice these to improve your landing technique. ✅ 1/2 Burpee Hold on Knees & Punch A cardio booster that adds an extra challenge. ✅ Mountain Climbers Just for fun, but they also ramp up the cardio!
