As a first generation sneaker connoisseur, I'm more than thrilled to help launch Jaclar sneakers in Canada. First up, on Friday October 18th I'll be interviewing Jaclar founder/CEO Willie Esco, the low key legend behind acclaimed sportswear brands like COOGI, Willie Esco, Jaclar, Etonic. Willie was also the Creative Director of Makavelli, responsible for licensing and brand development for Tupac Shakur to MGM movie licenses that generated over 500 plus million in sales.
You would have probably already seen the Jaclar / Dame Dash "CEO" collabos, Killer Mike co-signs, etc, but don't call it a comeback, as the brand's been here for years...since 1975, when Jaclar was created in Stoughton, Massachusetts and was heavy in the sneaker scene alongside Converse, Pony, and was spotted on everything from the finest tennis courts to basketball courts (eg. Jaclar sponsored the iconic Five Star Basketball Camps in Boston, which my basketball people know). Jaclar has been worn and adorned by the greats, from coaching legend John Calipari to the GOAT Michael Jordan, and is now revisiting its rich heritage vis a vis classic sportswear and footwear in 2024 and beyond...tap in 🫵🏾
