Waiting to hear back from a job interview? Here’s my advice for next time: When the interview ends: ✅Ask interviewer when you can expect to hear back about next steps ✅Obtain/confirm their email so you can send a thank you note ⏰ 12-24 hours later ➡️ send a follow-up thank you email 🗓️and if they’re still silent after the deadline, send a check in email reiterating interest. Recruiter: “You’ve got the job. When can you start?” This is where a lot of jobseekers accidentally fumble the offer. ❌ “ASAP” can sound rushed or desperate ❌ Over-explaining can weaken your position ✅ The goal is confident, professional, and strategic Say this instead, based on YOUR situation ⬇️ ✨ If you currently have a job: “I want to be respectful of my current role and ensure a smooth transition. I’d be available to start within two to three weeks.” ✨ If you’re ready to start ASAP but need to play it cool: “I’m very excited about this opportunity and can be flexible. I’d be happy to align with your preferred start date.” ✨ If you already have a prior obligation planned: “I’m very interested in the role. I do have a prior commitment already scheduled, so I’d be available to start on [date], and fully committed from day one.” These responses protect your professionalism, confidence, and leverage, especially in competitive federal and civilian hiring environments. I’m LaTasha, helping jobseekers land roles in both the federal and civilian sectors, from interview strategy to offer acceptance and beyond. Save this for your next interview! 💾✨ #federaljobs #usajobs #jobinterviewtips #careerstrategy #jobseekers

Looking to beat interview anxiety and start the meeting being the best version of you? Here’s my top affirmations to say to yourself before going into the interview. Interview anxiety can feel truly overwhelming and can really play with your confidence going into an interview. If you can take a few moments to be present before the interview, take some deep refreshing breathes, connect to where you are and repeat the affirmations to help you feel at ease. ❤️This is about visualising yourself doing well, reminding yourself that this is something you have really prepared for, have practiced and are ready for and are truly capable of showing your best self. 🧡They have chosen to meet with you because they see something in your skills and experience which will benefit them. They see real value in what you will bring to them and want to spend time speaking with you. 💛This is just a conversation, a chance to learn more about their problem and goals and for you to talk about a subject you are passionate and knowledgeable about. 💚You are relevant for them, this is your area of expertise, you are smart and confident and deserve to be here. 💙At the end of the day, they are just people, ordinary people and this is just a chance to get to know each other and see if there is a good fit for you both. 💜Keep breathing, pause, speak slowly and remain present. You can do this, I know you can! ☺️💫💛

Steal this for your next interview ⬇️ When an interviewer asks: “Describe yourself in 3 words.” Most people say: Hardworking. Team player. Detail-oriented. And honestly… those answers don’t make you memorable. Try something more specific: Follow @careerlenshq for more such job search advice that really works!! OPTION 1: Curious • Resourceful • Persistent Example answer: “Curious, resourceful, and persistent.” If they ask you to expand: “I’m naturally curious, so I like understanding how things work rather than just completing tasks. I’m resourceful when I don’t have all the information — I find ways to figure things out. And I’m persistent once I commit to a goal.” OPTION 2: Analytical • Adaptable • Results-driven Example answer: “Analytical, adaptable, and results-driven.” You could explain it like this: “I approach problems by breaking them down logically. I’m adaptable when priorities change, and I focus on delivering meaningful results.” OPTION 3: Strategic • Hands-on • Accountable Example answer: “Strategic, hands-on, and accountable.” Explanation: “I like thinking about the bigger picture, but I’m also comfortable executing and getting things done. And I take ownership of my work and the outcomes.” Simple answers. But much more memorable in interviews. Found this helpful? Believe me when I say I’ve heard all of these at interviews & it never ends well. Lots of candidates disqualify themselves from great roles by saying things like these in response to the interviewer’s questions☝🏾⁣ Some of these words/phrases suggest you haven’t spent time doing any research;⁣ Some make the interviewer question your ability to do the job;⁣ Some make the Hiring Manager question whether they really want you in their team;⁣ Some hint at desperation…nobody likes that.⁣ I’m very sure you can guess which is which.⁣ -⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ #interviewcoach #interviewcoaching ⁣⁣ #interviewers #interviewing #interviewprocess #interviewquestions #interviewskills #interviewtips #jobinterviews #jobinterviewtips⁣⁣ #careercounseling #careercoachingtips⁣⁣ #careercoachingtips #recruitertip #recruitertips #recruitmenttips #interviewskills #hrtips #hrprofessionals #interviewer #jobsearchtips #jobseeking #jobsearchadvice #jobinterviewoutfit #jobsearchhelp #instahiring #corporatechic #ukjobseeker #tier2visa #tier4visa

I’m a recruiter and I interview for a living. Most people overthink interview prep, but if you only have 60 minutes, here is exactly how to spend them. ⏲️ (comment “jobs” and I’ll share the guide) Stop “studying” and start strategizing. You don’t need to memorize the company’s entire history; you need to prove you can do the job. ➡️ Here is my 60-Minute Emergency Prep Guide: 1️⃣ 0–15 Mins: The “Pain Point” Deep Dive Don’t just read the job description—dissect it. • Identify the top 3 skills they keep mentioning. • Ask yourself: “What problem is this company trying to solve by hiring for this role?” • Goal: Align your value with their specific “pain.” 2️⃣ 15–35 Mins: The “Rule of Three” Stories Forget 20 different scenarios. Pick 3 versatile stories (STAR method) that demonstrate leadership, problem-solving, and technical skill. • Story 1: A time you saved the day. • Story 2: A time you handled a conflict or failure. • Story 3: A major project you’re proud of. • Pro Tip: These three stories can answer 90% of behavioral questions if you pivot them correctly. 3️⃣ 35–50 Mins: The “Vibe Check” Research Go to LinkedIn. Look up your interviewers. • Where did they work before? • Do you have mutual connections or interests? • Check the “Recent Posts” section of the company page. Mentioning a post from 48 hours ago makes you look incredibly dialed-in. 4️⃣ 50–60 Mins: The Reverse Interview The interview isn’t over until you ask questions. Prepare two that make you sound like a leader: 1. “What does ‘success’ look like for this role in the first 90 days?” 2. “How does the team handle [specific industry challenge]?” The Closer: Interviews aren’t about being perfect; they’re about being prepared. You’ve got this! Follow @nitsrecruits for no BS interview, resume, job search advice.
