🚨Lash techs, are you secretly sabotaging your own retention during the lash bath? Here are 4 common mistakes you might be making (and how to fix them): 1️⃣Only washing the lashes - Don’t forget the under-eye + top lid! Pads and tapes need a clean surface to stay secure during your set. This will avoid any lifting and or stickies between the upper and bottom lashes. 2️⃣Rinsing with cold water - Cold water leaves residue behind. Warm water fully dissolves shampoo so your adhesive bonds clean and strong like a magnet 3️⃣ Skipping the double cleanse - If your client wears makeup, one wash won’t cut it. And if your shampoo dissolves instantly, that’s makeup/dirt absorbing it → wash again for the best base. 4️⃣ Using the wrong shampoo - Cheap formulas (like Temu/Shein) often have lower than 5.5 pH levels = is too acidic for natural lashes, which weakens the glue bond. Always invest in a lash-safe shampoo that has 5.5-6 pH levels. Clean your damn lashes!! I don’t know if some of y’all think im bullshitting or what but cleaning your lashes when you get extensions which are significantly thicker than your natural lashes, it’s like cleaning your hair or your teeth or your butt. Things will get stuck in there! 😂 You gotta clean it or you legit will have filth on your EYE LID right by your EYE BALL! It’s dangerous 🥹 Not only is it sanitary to wash your lashes at least once a day but it will LITERALLY help keep your lash extensions on longer. Why? Because when oil, makeup, and dirt get STUCK on your lash line, it will encourage the extensions to slide right off. Not only that but when you come in for a fill, I can give you a lash bath but that alone will not remove this sort of build up. I DID wash this clients lashes before starting and clearly you can see all of the gunk I had to still pull off of her skin that was caked onto her lash line. This wasn’t a severe case but when I go to apply lash extensions in the short time of a fill appointment, im not gonna have time to knit pick at the dirt. And if I just put on extensions, they can’t adhere or grip correctly to the natural lash which also causes not great retention. I don’t tell you to wash your lashes to help sell shampoo product. Lash with me! 3 week Siren eye fill ✨ not shown in this video was the lash bath I gave before starting the fill🫧 I always start every service with a lash bath. 💕I wanted to show the steps I take for my wispy fills. I always start by removing outgrowns using the pop off method or banana peel method, sometimes I also have to peel apart fans if the typical methods don’t work ( my adhesive is so strong 💪🏼 lol) . After removing outgrowns I check with my mirror and look for the missing spikes (wispies) I go and add these and keep checking with the mirror to make sure it’s looking good 💖 once I’m done adding spikes I go ahead and work on the inner corners using tape to help expose those tricky lashes. Finally I tape up and fluff the bottom layer with fluffy fans 💕 lashes, adhesive, bonder and tweezers used are from my own collection ✨ link in bio Tape, lash shampoo, brushes and under eye pads are from @elan.beaute Want to learn from me?
