If you cover the ball with your chest like an iron shot, the attack angle becomes downward and the ball launches too low. Keep the head behind, let the body release, and the club can travel upward through impact. That upward attack angle is what increases launch and optimises spin rate for maximum distance.

Tee it higher and you can catch it more up (+AoA): higher launch, less spin. Use it with intent: Big head → higher tee. More loft → lower tee. Need carry/launch? Tee it higher. Need shape/spin control? Tee it lower. BTW - did this on a putting green, so the tees look proportionally higher than they would on a standard tee box and I chose this surface to keep the height progression clean and clear. You can roughly subtract 2.5cm to account for typical tee box turf. Try it on the range and tell me what changed in the comments.
