LEThings I'm doing as an LDS mom that's different than how I was raised Pt. 2:
1. ALWAYS COMING IN HOT: it's either caffine is against the word of wisdom or it's not. coffee isn't the unknown boogie man. And if it should keep you out of the temple then so should a food and sugar addictions or hunting for pleasure.
2. Me or my husband will be sitting in interviews w my children until their old enough to say otherwise and my children will know what's appropriate to be asked and not asked in an interview
3. My kids do not blink an eye to anyone around us who are drinking/smoking/etc etc. WHY? "Because mommy and daddy choose not to do that because we believe in trying our best to keep our bodies healthy etc etc but a lot of people do" period.
4. We are not the only "true church" we just believe in having the fullness of the gospel. (I still remember telling someone we were the only true church in kindergarten) 🥲
5. I WAS raised to serve others. To be aware of my surroundings and to stop and help and never turn a blind eye. This is something I aspire to be SO good at. (We're still working on it my kids are so young) but I hope above all my kids learn to love service and to be the kids that always step up

FAThe biggest mistake people make with Come, Follow Me is thinking it has to be elaborate to “count.”
You know, quiet kids. Scripture-heavy. Thoughtful discussion.
That’s not how it happens in my house.
Most of our gospel learnjng happens at the kitchen table, before or after meals.
This week we’re studying Moses 1, so I told my daughter a story about a time I doubted myself, like Satan wanted Moses to.
We talked about temptation not only as wanting to do something bad, but sometimes feeling scared to do or believe something good.
That was it.
That was Come, Follow Me that day.

And it wasn’t my fault. SO many people in the church — youth leaders, professors, other moms, etc — made me feel like it was one or the other. I could work and have a career OR be a good mom. I could chase higher education OR I could get married.
But in reality, you can do both. That has ALWAYS been true, regardless of cultural norms or whatever Becky in your hometown ward says.
I wish I had had enough confidence in myself and trust in God to feel like I could chase these dreams, be a good mom, AND be a good member of the church, without needing a 7-year detour. But it all worked out and lessons were learned 🤍

COI understand the frustration….
The reality is the straps on the new garment are not the same for every size. The bigger the garment the larger the width of the strap.
So, although the whole list I shared works for me (xs top) it may not work for you!
