MOOLOOLABA SPIT 📍Urunga Esplanade, Mooloolaba Growing up on the North end of the coast I never spent much time at Mooloolaba Spit. However, now I’ve got little ones, I’m glad we’re getting to know the area. My little one loved scooting along the pathways and swimming at the beach. 👍🏻Toilets 👍🏻Shade 👍🏻Parking 👍🏻Pram Friendly 👍🏻Grassy Area 👍🏻Tables + Chairs 👍🏻BBQ’s 👍🏻Suitable for wheels/scooters 👍🏻Bites 👍🏻Sips ❌Fenced We had planned a whole afternoon at the Mooloolaba Spit, because there is so much to do. After my oldest and his Dad scooted and skated and I took my youngest in the pram, we cooled off with a swim and then had a run around the playgrounds.  There is a fish and chip shop as well as other restaurants, so you could really make a day of it. We visited February 2025.

The good news? Just about anywhere you go on the Sunshine Coast is going to be epic 😎🌊. Overrated vs Underrated Sunshine Coast Spots (Locals Edition) 🌊☀️ Coolum Main Beach 🏖️ → Coolum Second Bay 🌊 Reason: Main Beach is crowded and touristy; Second Bay is quieter—perfect for a relaxed, chill day 😌. Mooloolaba Main Beach 🏖️ → Point Cartwright Beach 🌅 Reason: Skip the jam-packed Mooloolaba Strip and head to Point Cartwright for stunning headland walks 🥾 and a peaceful beach. Noosa National Park 🏞️ → Coolum to Point Arkwright 🌊 Reason: Everyone flocks to Noosa National Park, but the Coolum–Point Arkwright coastal walk is just as scenic without the tourist traffic 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️. Noosa Main Beach 🏖️ → Tea Tree Bay 🌿 Reason: Main Beach is packed; Tea Tree Bay is a hidden gem 💎 for a relaxed swim 🏊‍♀️ and nature vibes, plus the walk through Noosa National Park is gorgeous 🌺.
